Forest City won Lot of Awards From SCAHSA

Global Forum on Human Settlements, also known as the Global Forum on Human Settlements 15th Annual Session of the Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS 2020) was held in a virtual format to mark an event to commemorate Urban October on October 15-16 in 2020. The focus being”Post-Pandemic Resilience and Transformation Resilient Cities and a Healthy Planet”.

Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Chairman of GFHS, Former UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative delivered the opening address. In the midst of the annual gathering it was”Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards Ceremony 2020 “Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards Ceremony 2020” (SCAHSA 2020) was held in the evening of 16 October. Forest City, located in Johor, Malaysia, has been awarded the “Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards 2020 (SCAHSA) Global Model of Coastal Ecological Environment Protection” for its outstanding urban eco-friendly development and green construction and adhering to the environment protection principle throughout the process of urban development, planning, and operation.

At the ceremony to award the prize at the ceremony, The award ceremony was attended by Dr. Awni Behnam, Former United Nations Assistant Secretary General and honorary president of the International Ocean Institute (IOI) was the first to announce his announcement that Forest City was awarded the “Global Model of Coastal Ecological Environment Protection”. A large number of guests attending the event acknowledged forest city for its achievement. The Dr. Ralph D. Wahnschafft, Director of Sustainable Development Policy of the Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS) stated that sustainable development is an ongoing, long-term investment. Forest City has done so through the use of green technology in the construction and design process to provide more comfortable areas. Ms. Alex Camprubi, Member of the Technical Committee of the Asian Habitat Society with consultative status in the United Nations (ECOSOC), was awed by Forest City’s continuous environmental and ecological protection measures which not only reflect the corporate sense of social responsibility, but also led to the sustainable development of urban operations as well as green ecology.

It is the fifth consecutive year that Forest City has received this international honor. In the year 2019, Forest City won the “Global Green Smart City Award” for its green cities and smart buildings. In 2018, Forest City won the ” Global Model of City-Industry Integration Award” and its industrialized construction system IBS was awarded the ” Global Model of Green Building Industrial Park (IBS Park)” in 2017. in 2016. Forest City won the award of”Global Human Settlements Prize for Design and Design”.

In September of 2020, Forest City published the Forest City Ecological Development Action Plan in conjunction with the launch of the EcoMuseum Phase 1 Exhibition Hall. The plan laid out the objectives and objectives of eco city development, operation , and management beginning with the project’s development in 2014 to the future. In line with these guidelines, Forest City will carry the green infrastructure development process as a base, rely on the latest technologies to improve the development of urban economies and, eventually, transform into a vibrant and green city that has a variety of industries and diverse cultures.
